The first weekly draw of the new North Lanarkshire Community Lottery is due to take place on the 4th June at 8pm. The local lottery has been set up by Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire in a bid to raise money for charities and good causes throughout North Lanarkshire.
Tickets are available to buy online at a cost of £1 each, and winners could scoop up to £25,000. Other prizes include £2000, £250 and £200 shopping vouchers. Draws will take place every Saturday at 8pm. The lucky winners will be informed by email and will have the money transferred automatically into their bank account.
Maddy Halliday, CEO of Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire which is hosting the lottery said: “I am delighted that our new community lottery is live with 51 North Lanarkshire not- for-profit organisations signed up with their own lottery page to raise additional funds to support their vital work.”
Good causes that have signed up to date include Baby Loss Retreat, Community Action Newarthill and Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust. Any not-for-profit group can sign up to raise funds including sports clubs, community groups and Parent Teach Associations (PTAs,).
If you’ve got tickets for the first draw, good luck and a big thank you for taking part from the North Lanarkshire Community Lottery team.
