A free event is being held for tourism, leisure and events businesses to launch the North Lanarkshire Tourism Challenge Fund.
The fund will be open for applications for projects which support the development of tourism in the area through increased visitor numbers and spend as well as promoting North Lanarkshire as a visitor destination.
The event will also provide information about the support available from the council, VisitScotland and Business Gateway Lanarkshire.

“Businesses in the tourism and leisure sector are an important part of the North Lanarkshire economy, and the new Tourism Challenge Fund will offer opportunities for development and growth,” said Yvonne Weir, Enterprise Manager.
“Through our Tourism Strategy, we provide a range of support to businesses to help attract more visitors to the area to enjoy the many attractions on offer.”

The event on 25 October is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
