Labour and Co-operative Party candidate Kaye Harmon has been elected to serve as an elected member in Ward 19 Motherwell South East and Ravenscraig of North Lanarkshire Council, following a by-election on Thursday 16 November.
The number of first preference votes polled for each candidate was:
- Billy Acheson, British Unionists – For a Better Britain - 96
- Oyebola Ajala, Scottish Conservative and Unionist - 296
- Kaye Harmon, Labour and Co-operative Party – 1,368
- Robert Stewart McGeorge, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 68
- Mark Shields, Alba Party - 66
- Derek Watson, Scottish Green Party - 255
- Neil Wilson, UK Independence Party - 24
- Rosa Zambonini, Scottish National Party (SNP) - 934
Total of first preference votes: 3,107
The percentage poll was 20.0% and the electoral quota was 1,554.
48 ballot papers were rejected.
