Our survey covers areas from recruiting staff and providing training and learning, to building skill sets and identifying future digital requirements.

It builds on a similar exercise carried out two years ago, as the country was emerging from the covid pandemic, which indicated that almost two thirds of respondents had a skills gap.

The current survey aims to find out if digital skills have developed and where gaps remain. This will allow the council to understand local business strengths and weaknesses, and to develop support that meets business needs.

“The council plays a vital role in supporting local businesses and organisations, and in these challenging times that support has never been so important,” said Councillor Ayeshah Khan, Convener of the Enterprise, Growth and Fair Work Committee.

“We want to help businesses learn how to make the most of digital services and bring innovative ideas to the market quicker. For this to happen, they need to improve their digital capability and the skills of their workforce to keep pace with technological progress.

“Using the information from this survey we can effectively target our resources where they are needed most, so I would encourage businesses and organisations to take a few minutes to complete our survey.”
