Children and families in Viewpark celebrated the refurbishment of their play facility in Lilac Crescent at a special event.
The park features modern play areas for children and aims to be inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.
The existing play area has been completely transformed with the installation of brand-new equipment.
Among the highlights are a thrilling slide, swings, a pyramid swirl, an accessible bouncy trampoline, and an adventurous zip wire.
Local councillors Helen Loughran and Barry McCluskey attended the opening event where a ribbon was cut to mark the occasion.
Councillor Loughran said: “The new facilities are wonderful and provide a modernised and vibrant recreational space for children, families, and residents of all ages.
Councillor McCluskey added: “It's a superb new facility, which features a diverse range of play equipment designed to encourage physical activity, creativity, and fun.”
North Lanarkshire Council’s Community Partnership Team thanked the collaborative efforts of the staff and children from the local primary schools Aikenhead, Tannochside and John Paul II, local elected members, contractor Hags and the NLC Streetscene team in making this project a reality.
The project cost £120,000 and was funded by the council’s Local Development Programme (LDP).
The opening took place in front of children, families and local councillors at Lilac Crescent play park in Viewpark on 17 November 2023.
