Work has started at Auldyards Road in the first stage of the new Gartcosh to Glenboig link road. (From archive December 2016)

The work is being carried out by JH Civil Engineering Ltd on our behalf, and involves upgrading the existing road and street lighting, together with a new footway/cycleway, drainage and kerbing.

It is part of the wider £6.6million project being delivered through the to construct a new road and two roundabouts between Gartcosh and Glenboig, helping to attract new housing to the area and investment at Gartcosh Business Park.

Access to and from Auldyards Road will be maintained throughout the 16-week programme of work, with traffic management in place. Temporary parking restrictions are in place to allow the work to be carried out and drivers are asked to follow all traffic signs and restrictions.

As part of the overall link road project, Gartcosh Local Nature Reserve will be extended by approximately 2.15 hectares.

Work started on site on Monday 28 November.
