Smart Hub Lanarkshire is throwing open its doors on Friday 30 August to offer North Lanarkshire businesses access to a series of demonstration sessions on the use of collaborative robots (cobots) for welding.

The sessions will take place within new dedicated demo and test space created within New College Lanarkshire’s Motherwell campus.

Robotic welding is a rapidly growing industry that ensures precise and consistent welds, improves product quality, enhances safety by reducing exposure to heat and fumes, and offers unmatched flexibility. Cobots can be easily reprogrammed to adapt to various welding tasks, making them an essential tool for modern manufacturing.

This is one of the first demonstrations of this cutting-edge technology in Scotland. Businesses will learn how to programme a welding robot and have the opportunity to try it first-hand in an interactive session.

Smart Hub Lanarkshire has partnered with innovative Finnish and Danish companies Kemppi and Smooth Robotics who are both pioneers in this field. The sessions are also being supported by SP Elements, Scotland's main supplier of universal robots.
