Three local companies have been recognised for high standards of excellence by our Employer Charter.
Antibody Analytics, Belac Group and SecureShield Ltd received a Gold Accreditation for achieving all elements of the charter, which aims to increase employment and training opportunities for residents and provide support to businesses.
The charter is based around four commitments by employers: to pay all staff the Real Living Wage; employ North Lanarkshire residents; use local businesses in the supply chain where possible; and ensure fair work practices which attract and retain employees.
Businesses which achieve two or more of these commitments receive a bronze, silver or gold accreditation. Membership of the charter is free.
Provost Kenneth Duffy presented the awards, saying: “Congratulations to all three companies for their commitment to doing business responsibly and being a positive employer who invest in their employees and support the local economy.
“For businesses that sign up to our Employer Charter, it offers clear benefits for both employers and employees as well as making a contribution to growing a vibrant, sustainable economy for everyone in North Lanarkshire.”
Antibody Analytics is a specialist CRO, supporting innovators of biological-based therapies to treat a range of life-threatening human diseases, including cancer. Based in Motherwell, yhey advise on and conduct research on behalf of drug developers, with a particular focus on advanced immunotherapies that can direct the patient’s own immune system to target their disease.
Belac Group Ltd, a construction and utilities contractor based in Bellshill, was founded by four experienced directors, with over 80 years of extensive experience in both the construction and multi utility sectors. Offering a range of services, for a wide variety of clients, across a number of key sectors, 80% of their work is repeat business from satisfied customers.
SecureShield Ltd, in Motherwell, are a leading provider of fire, security, and safety critical services, with a range of diverse clients from hospitals and care homes to education, public and private sector facilities. The company deliver accredited design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance services across the UK.
