Christmas card competition winners announced

Hundreds of pupils from schools across North Lanarkshire took part in this year’s Christmas card design competition.

And the winners were announced at a special event held at St Brendan’s Primary School in Motherwell.

Provost Kenneth Duffy said: “The standard was exceptional and choosing a winner certainly wasn’t easy.

“The pupils have brought their artistic talents to bring a splash of colour to our Christmas cards, which are sent across the country and some internationally.”

The following pupils were chosen by the following councillors as the winning designs:

  • Caoimhe - St. Brendan’s Primary School
  • Violet – Newarthill Primary School

Depute Provost Bob Burgess

  • Aimee – St. Thomas’ Primary School
  • Cody – Clyde Valley High School

Leader of the Council – Jim Logue

  • Diana – Victoria Primary School

Depute Leader of the Council – Louise Roarty

  • Chloe – St. Brigid’s Primary School

Convener of Education, Children and Families – Cllr Angela Campbell

  • Niamh – St. Aidan’s High School

Education, Children and Families’ service

  • Maja – St. Patricks Primary School, Coatbridge
