As the countdown begins to Adult Learners' Week 2023 in North Lanarkshire, the spotlight is firmly set on supporting personal growth and encouraging learning opportunities for all.

The week-long campaign begins on 1 September, and we are encouraging people to explore their passions and embrace the concept of lifelong learning.

Councillor Angela Campbell, Convener of Education, Children and Families explained: "Education has no barriers and we are excited by the opportunities Adult Learners' Week offers to our communities.

“Learning is a powerful tool that can help transform lives, provide opportunities and give people confidence to pursue their interests and future careers options.

“Throughout the week, a number of engaging taster sessions will be hosted at various locations across North Lanarkshire. These sessions will give participants the chance to sample a diverse range of subjects and disciplines and encourage further interest and exploration.

“We are committed to breaking down barriers and making learning accessible to all. Join us in celebrating the joy of learning and the endless possibilities it brings."

One of the highlights of the week will be the sharing of inspiring stories from individuals who have embarked on adult learning and experienced life-changing transformations. These sessions will showcase the positive impact that returning to education can have, empowering adults, families and young people to move confidently toward a brighter and more future.
