Our Social Work team hosted a successful carers recruitment event for private providers in the Motherwell Concert Hall on Thursday 27 April, providing valuable information to job seekers and employers alike.

The event was well attended, and the feedback was highly positive, with most people saying they found it extremely useful or very useful.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet and speak with representatives from different care companies and learn more about the industry, the requirements, and the available job opportunities.

As a result of the event, 50 people applied for jobs on the day, and 71 intended to apply for a job following the event.

Those who attended the event praised it for being informative, interesting, and well-organized. Some of the comments included, "very interesting," "excellent," "good to speak to all different care companies," and "everyone was very friendly and gave a lot of useful information."

Maria Williamson, Quality Assurance senior manager, Health & Social Care North Lanarkshire, said: “Our hope is that everyone who attended the event will be inspired to pursue a career in care, and we are pleased to showcase the diverse range of roles and opportunities available.

“Care is a profession that offers excellent avenues for professional growth and development, and this event was an excellent way to highlight the opportunities available."

Similar care career recruitment events are being planned on the back of this successful event.
