Provost Kenneth Duffy has praised the outstanding work of Guide Dogs North Lanarkshire and thanked the local community following a fundraising event to support individuals with visual impairments.
The "Every Cuppa Counts" cake and coffee morning held on Saturday 20 April at Plains Evangelical Church helped raise the fantastic sum of £675.
Provost Duffy, joined attendees and three guide dog puppies, accompanied by their dedicated puppy raisers to help raise awareness of the invaluable role played by volunteers in training guide dogs.
"Events like these show the true spirit of our community, where individuals come together to make a meaningful difference to the lives of others. I’d like to thank Guide Dogs North Lanarkshire for organising this very successful fundraiser and in particular, the wonderful efforts of Francis and Sharon from the NL fundraising group, and to Plains Evangelical Church for hosting the event.
“Their commitment to enhancing the lives of those with visual impairments is truly inspiring,” said Provost Duffy.
