Applies to all on-sale premises with televised sports
The Licensing Board has agreed the following arrangements in relation to Scotland's participation in the FIFA World Cup 2026, which has been recognised as a special event of national significance.
A general extension of on-sales licensed hours has been approved for only Scotland's scheduled matches in the FIFA World Cup 2026. The extension shall:
- Apply to all on-sales premises within the Board's area, provided the said premises have permission to show televised sports on their operating plan.
- Exclude access for children and young persons during the extended hours.
- Apply solely on the dates of Scotland matches.
- Permit the sale of alcohol until 30 minutes after the final whistle of each relevant match.
- Include drinking-up time within that 30 minute period.
- Maintain all other mandatory and local licence conditions, which will remain fully in force.
