Notice is hereby given, in terms of Section 101(1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, and Regulation 9(1) of the Local Authority Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2014, together with the provisions of Schedule 6 Paragraph 9 of the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 that:
An unaudited copy of the Accounts of North Lanarkshire Council and the Accounts of the Council’s sundry charitable trusts and educational endowments, as well as the North Lanarkshire Integration Joint Board Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2021 will be available to view electronically from Wednesday 30 June 2021 on our website. The Annual Accounts shall be open to inspection free of charge by any person interested, between Thursday, 1 July 2021 and Wednesday, 21 July 2021 (inclusive). Due to restrictions put in place by Scottish Government to control the incidence and transmission of Coronavirus, it would be inappropriate to offer such inspection on a face-to-face basis, therefore all such persons interested may inspect the unaudited accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto insofar as is possible to provide electronically. Any request to view supporting documentation should be made by email to annualaccounts@northlan.gov.uk
Any person interested may make objections to the Accounts or any part thereof, together with a statement of the grounds of complaint, to the Council’s auditor, Mr Brian Howarth, Audit Director, Audit Services by email to bhowarth@audit-scotland.gov.uk (North Lanarkshire Council and North Lanarkshire Integration Joint Board) or Mr Alasdair Craik, Senior Audit Manager by email to ACraik@audit-scotland.gov.uk (Education Endowments and Sundry Charitable Trusts). A copy of the objection and the statement should be sent to the Officer concerned and to the Chief Executive of North Lanarkshire Council within 21 days of the Accounts being first available for public inspection. Any person who makes any such objection has the right to appear before and be heard by the Auditors, Audit Scotland, either personally or by a representative with respect to that objection. However due to restrictions put in place by Scottish Government to control the incidence and transmission of Coronavirus, it would be inappropriate for this right to appear before the Auditors to be offered on a face-to-face basis, so any such hearing would be conducted remotely using appropriate electronic communication.
The names and charity numbers of the Council’s educational endowments and sundry trusts are as follows:
