Details of how our services are operating over the festive period, including registration offices, social work services and bin collections.
We have a number of social media sites, which we invite the public to follow us on.
We reserve the right to remove any content from our sites that we consider to be inappropriate. This includes, but is not restricted to, the following:
- Messages, including images, that are unlawful, libellous, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented or racially offensive.
- Swearing.
- Content copied from elsewhere, for which you do not own the copyright.
- Message, or very similar messages, posted more than once (also called "spamming").
- Messages that publicise your, or anyone else's, personal information may be removed to protect the privacy and identity of the individual.
- Advertisements for products or services
- We will not tolerate abuse of named staff in public posts on social media channels
We also ask that all your messages are civil, tasteful and relevant.
Political neutrality
The council itself, as opposed to its political administration, must be politically neutral in its communications. Please do not use any of our pages to promote party political messages or other content. This is a particularly sensitive issue in the run-up to an election - local, Scottish, general or European. We will remove any comments that, in our view, compromises the council's obligation to maintain political neutrality.
Complaints
If you have a concern about something posted on a page that the council is responsible for, please contact Corporate Communications.
Commercial activities
We do not promote the activities of third-party commercial organisations on our website or social media accounts.
