The organisation plans to renovate and regenerate the site, as well as manage and operate the site as a base for their football teams to train and play matches on, and to host events for the wider community.

The organisation are requesting to take ownership of Coatbridge Outdoor Sports Centre, this includes the running track, grass terracing, Janet Hamilton Community Centre building, Coatbridge Outdoor Sport Centre building, two storage outbuilding and the car park situated outside the perimeter fence.

The organisation plans to bring the site back to being one of the leading track facilities in Scotland and is looking to bring the community centre back to Langloan.

The organisation plan to continue to use the Janet Hamilton Centre as a hub for fitness for all and inclusive health and wellbeing activities, including boxing fitness and classes, clubbercise dancing fitness and confidence classes for young adults who are disabled and/or have special needs

The organisation are requesting 2.75 acres of land at the front of the site, inclusive of The Janet Hamilton Centre, Coatbridge Outdoor Sports Centre, gardener’s storage area, internal and external car parking areas and associated open space, pathways and greenery.

This community asset transfer (CAT) is being requested to protect and preserve the Viewpark Gardens and develop a community provision that will be used by individuals and community groups.

VGT Review

Viewpark Gardens Trust has asked for a review of the decision taken by the council to refuse their application for the community asset transfer of Viewpark Gardens.

Documents relating to this review are available on request by the Elected Members Review Panel, Viewpark Gardens Trust and identified parties, who may have expressed concerns as part of the initial public consultation process.
