Gritting and roads

Gritting update

Tuesday 4th February 2025, 1200hrs

Forecast

The bulk of the rain will clear east early this afternoon, leaving behind bright spells and frequent showers feeding in from the west. Showers will continue through the evening and overnight, and may be heavy at times. An increasingly cold night, with the potential for some of the showers to fall as a little sleet/wet snow towards dawn. RSTs falling close to or below zero with the risk of ice and hoar frost, with reduced confidence on the RST minima. Drier and brighter tomorrow morning, albeit with the odd shower still possible.

Forecast minimum road surface temperature -0.9 degrees.
