Free school meal payments

School closure - 24/1/25

A free school meal payment for the recent school closure (24/01/2025) will be made to all pupils who have been awarded free school meals through the revenue and benefits application and parental income assessment process.

This will be added to the planned free school meal holiday payment in February.

Payments for the 2024/25 academic year national school holidays will be issued in accordance with the table below. Please note that payments may take up to five working days to arrive from the date of issue.

Where we hold bank details for the pupil’s registered parent/carer, one payment per pupil will be made by bank transfer. This payment will show as 'NLC Creditors'.

If we do not hold bank details, payments will be issued through a postal PayPoint voucher to the pupil’s registered school address.

If you believe you are entitled to these payments and have not received them within five working days from the issue date, please email fme@northlan.gov.uk

Your email should include:

  • parents full name
  • pupils full name(s)
  • address
  • pupils date of births(s)
  • school(s) and stage(s) of learning

A free school meal payment relating to the school closures on the 24/01/2025 will be include in the February holiday payment for all eligible pupils.
