Coatbridge has been awarded £19.5m in funding from the UK Government's 'Plan for Neighbourhoods' to develop and deliver a Regeneration Plan for the town, setting out a vision for Coatbridge over the next ten years.
North Lanarkshire Council is the accountable body for this funding and we support the Coatbridge Town Board, which has responsibility for developing the Regeneration Plan and overseeing its delivery through four-yearly Investment Plans.
The Board was established in April 2024 and is currently working to develop the Regeneration Plan for Coatbridge and an initial four-year Investment Plan, and has overseen extensive engagement with people in Coatbridge since summer 2024.
The UK Government has announced that the Regeneration Plan should be submitted between spring 2025 and winter 2025, once the relevant engagement and development has been undertaken.
