Orbiston Community Hub will provide a 21st-century facility for the Orbiston community which will include:

  • Sacred Heart Primary School
  • Lawmuir Primary School
  • Family Learning Centre (0-5 years)
  • Community Centre (which will replace Joe McKay Centre)

We're committed to delivering an inclusive learning environment where state-of-the-art facilities are provided for its children, young people and members of the community.

A further focus on health and wellbeing will ensure this commitment extends to outdoor facilities and these will provide enhanced leisure and recreational facilities for all members of the community.

Proposals

The amenities will extend to high-quality outdoor and indoor sports facilities, extensive landscaped shared playground for both schools and a dedicated outside play space for the Family Learning Centre, enthusing the youngest of learners.

The design of the Orbiston Community Hub is currently on track to deliver our first fully electric town and community hub development, which represents a significant and fundamental step in our journey towards net zero.

This hub will deliver on average a 90% reduction in carbon emissions and 60% reduction in energy consumption, compared to the estimated performance of the existing Lawmuir and Sacred Heart Primary schools.
