Strategic Environmental Assessment

Under Environmental Assessment legislation we carried out a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the Local Development Plan.

What is this and why it is done?

SEA is the assessment of the effects of a plan, programme or strategy on the environment.

It is central to achieving the Scottish Government's aim of sustainable economic growth because it ensures greater consideration of the impact of public plans on Scotland's environment.

Accompanying reports and appendices

We produced an Environmental Report which assessed The Plan against potential environmental effects. It also considered mitigation against these effects.

The Environmental Report is supported by appendices, an addendum and a post-adoption update which contain further information reflecting stages The Plan went through.

These are available below and should be read together in conjunction with the Environmental Report.
