Community litter picks

We support the campaigns run by Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB) to clean up our communities. If you could spare some time to help with litter picking, completing survey or other volunteer tasks, find out how.

There are 22 community clean up hubs across North Lanarkshire, set up in partnership with Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB) to provide litter picking equipment for anyone who wants to organise a litter pick. This includes bags, high-vis jackets, litter sticks, kit for children, posters and promotional materials.

Find your nearest hub at Clean Up Scotland map.

The council also supports community groups carrying out litter picks with equipment and removal of bagged rubbish. Email us at GroundsMaintenance@northlan.gov.uk to submit a request.

Businesses can help too. Zero Waste Scotland has an initiative to tackle litter at source and reduce its impact on the community. Businesses and organisations are encouraged to develop litter prevention action plans and will receive support to deliver their plans.
