How to reclaim your dog

Dogs are taken to our holding kennels. You can reclaim your dog by calling us on 01236 856300 between 8.30am and 4.45pm Monday to Friday. Please note that offices are closed at weekends. If payment is received before 1pm on any working day we will return your dog that same day. If payment is received after 1pm we will return your dog the next working day.

If your dog has not been picked up by the council then you may want to contact Police Scotland as stray dogs found by members of the public outwith normal working hours may be delivered to local police stations.

If your dog is not being held at the holding kennels or by the Police then you should contact the SSPCA Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Re-Homing Centre, as they may be able to help you.

Please note - the animal claiming fee is £135.19, in the first instance. If your dog has been taken to the SSPCA then the charges may differ.
