Get Walking Lanarkshire 10th Anniversary

Anniversary walks

Join in the 10th anniversary celebrations!

We have four one-off walks on offer. The walks last no longer than an hour and go at a gentle pace.
Details of the celebration walks are below. If you would like to join in please book through Eventbrite.

  • Monday 13 May 10.30am, Malls Mire Community Woodland, Rutherglen
  • Tuesday 14 May 10.30am, South Haugh Local Nature Reserve, Hamilton
  • Wednesday 15 May 11am, Dalzell Estate, Motherwell
  • Thursday 16 May 10am, Auchinstarry, Kilsyth

Video and Poem competition

Get creative by filming a video or writing a poem. There are two categories: Health Walks and Active Travel.

Tell us how health walks or active travel have helped you or what you enjoy about the health walks or traveling actively.

How to submit

You can e-mail your poem to us.

Once your video is ready, please email us and we will send instructions on how to get the video to us via file transfer. The email address is getwalkinglanarkshire@northlan.gov.uk

Winners

Winners will be announced by the end of June 2024 via e-mail and on our Facebook page. There will be prizes for winners and runners-up in each category.

Competition Terms and Conditions

  • The competition opens 9am 10 May 2024 and ends 11:59pm 10 August 2024.
  • There is a limit of one video and/or one poem submission per participant.
  • Videos and poems need to be original work. Previously published videos or poems will not be accepted.
  • The competition is open to entrants over 18 years of age.
  • Staff and partners of Get Walking Lanarkshire can take part but are excluded from winning a prize.
  • Videos and poems submitted after the deadline will not be included in the competition.
  • Videos are to be no longer than 2 minutes 30 seconds.
  • By submitting a video and/or poem, you are allowing Get Walking Lanarkshire to use and share your video and/or poem in a public manner, which may include social media and other channels of Get Walking Lanarkshire and the project funders: North and South Lanarkshire Councils, NHS Lanarkshire, Paths for All and Smarter Choices Smarter Places.
  • If your video features other people, please ensure you have their permission to be filmed and for the video to be shared in the above-mentioned ways.
