Assessing Options: Stage 2

Active travel (East Airdrie Link Road)

What will we do?

As part of the East Airdrie Link Road project, we will provide a cycling, walking and wheeling route from Calderbank/Chapelhall to Riggend.

The cycling, walking and wheeling route will be provided separate to the road. This will make sure communities across the Airdrie area can access the route, and that it connects people to main destinations and facilities.

It will also connect to the National Cycle Network route 75 and other existing paths.

Proposals for the active travel route are at an early stage.

We will be appointing a consultant soon to design the route.

The consultants will take the North Lanarkshire Active Travel Strategy into account when developing the designs.

We will seek your views on the active travel route design when it is available.
