Protecting North Lanarkshire's countryside

Our bases are within the three country parks of Drumpellier, Palacerigg and Strathclyde and we are involved in local nature reserves, the historic sites of Colzium and Dalzell Estates, as well as fifteen other greenspace sites and more than 350 Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation.

We help to promote responsible access in line with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and contribute to national Biodiversity Action Plans.

Our educational walks and talks can be tailored to suit the needs of different groups. Our What's on page shows the details of all events that we hold throughout the year.

Working closely with schools to complement outdoor learning and the Curriculum for Excellence. We are associated with the Eco-Schools initiative as advisors and assessors helping to promote biodiversity, health and wellbeing and sustaining our world, and can help schools achieve the Green Flag award.

We can help local community groups to develop and improve access, biodiversity and facilities within their own parks and greenspaces.

Working with our natural partners to facilitate initiatives such as the John Muir Trust, Duke of Edinburgh Awards as well as Branching Out and Forest School programmes.
