Ambition. We have it. Now we need yours.

At North Lanarkshire Council we're ambitious. We're fizzing with energy and ideas to transform our towns and communities into vibrant places to live, work and visit. As Scotland's fourth largest local authority, we've got lofty ambitions, bags of determination and we're moving at a pace to effect real change in our communities and how we deliver services.

We're providing services that enhance lives, communities and experiences of almost 340,000 people living in the area.

We're committed to delivering quality services that provide best value, create prosperity, achieve social justice and meet local needs across the area.

Delivering quality services starts with having the right people working here and the right ethos internally. And with almost 12,500 staff, we work hard to make sure each person feels part of the bigger team.

Working Together

Our priorities are clear. We want to:

  • Improve economic opportunities and outcomes
  • Support all children to realise their full potential
  • Improve the health, wellbeing and care of our communities
  • Improve relationships with communities and the third sector
  • Improve the council's resource base

We know that we can only achieve the outcomes to meet these priorities by working together and by being focused on solutions. North Lanarkshire Council is high-performing but we can do so much more by having the very best people to help us achieve our ambitions.

Aspire

We have developed our own ASPIRE philosophy within the organisation that underpins our services and our own people who work here, who are essential to their delivery. ASPIRE provides the guiding principles in terms of the way we work and the way we deliver our services now and in the future.

We are structured into five key service areas under which a range of specialist departments deliver high quality, cost-effective services to our residents and businesses. We are open, accountable and aim to deliver the best at all times.

  • Chief Executive Service
  • Education, Youth and Communities
  • Enterprise and Housing Resources
  • Health and Social Care
  • Infrastructure

We are an equal opportunities employer and firmly believe in respecting equality and diversity within the workplace. It is important to us that all staff feel valued and are respected and our policies reflect that.

As well as competitive salaries, generous annual leave and an attractive pension scheme, there's a great range of benefits, including our Work Well NL programme, flexible working and a new rewards and recognition scheme.

We believe in supporting people to realise their ambitions and making the most of their talents. So whether you come on board as a Modern Apprentice or a senior manager, there's training and development opportunities aimed at all levels.

If you've got the energy and drive to help us realise our ambitions at this exciting time, then get in touch.
