We moved to our new purpose built campus in April 2012, which has proved very popular with both pupils and staff.

In Calderbridge Primary School we strive to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum and pay particular attention to raising achievement as well as attainment.

Our pupils and staff strive to develop and fulfil an integral role within their environment and continue to build strong partnerships and relationships with their local and wider community. We have established and continue to develop effective and positive links with our fellow "Cluster Schools", our associated Secondary School, Coltness High, and local Nurseries.

Over the course of the academic year our pupils benefit from many opportunities to participate in activities out with the core curricular areas. These activities are designed to enrich and complement classroom work and therefore play an important role in the life of the school and in the experiences offered to our children.

Regular newsletters are sent to parents to keep them informed of developments and activities within the school. We benefit greatly from the interest, support and cooperation of our parent body, working in partnership with each other to foster in our pupils appropriate attitudes to work and to others. The strength of this partnership is very much appreciated.

Our Parent Council and PTA were established in session 2010/2011 and work very hard to support the work of the school. Fundraising events are organised for pupils, parents, friends of the school and members of the general community to participate in.

Each session the parents of our new Primary 1 pupils are invited to visit the school on three occasions in May with their children to allow opportunities for our newest pupils to meet their class teacher and their classmates. Parents have the opportunity to attend workshops about the curriculum their children will experience in Primary 1 and to ask questions about this new event in their child's life.

During the year appointments are arranged for all parents to visit the school for a variety of purposes in order to share and contribute to the learning experiences of our children.

The school plays an integral role in its community and we regularly participate in competitions, special and sporting events. We like to maintain a positive profile in the community and in the local press.

Pupils normally transfer from Primary to Secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 so that they have the opportunity to complete at least four years of Secondary Education. Pupils from Calderbridge Primary School normally transfer to Coltness High.
