The present school building was opened in 1966. It is a single storey building consisting of eight classrooms. There is also a hall / dining room, stage a library/ support area and an administration block.

We have nine teaching staff and two classroom assistants for supporting pupils. In addition, we are fortunate to have a support teacher two days a week. There are also music instructors for brass and chanter tuition.

We provide a secure, safe and stimulating environment where the children can learn effectively. We provide children with a wide range of well planned learning experiences, which develop the Experiences and Outcomes of Curriculum for Excellence. With their learning children are given the opportunity for personalisation and choice and are encouraged to be actively engaged in their learning.

We have a very supportive Parent Council who are actively involved in the life of the school. We also have an active group of parents who help in the school on a regular basis. The enthusiastic Parents' Association helps by organising and running fund-raising and social events for parents and children.

Pupil voice is very important to us in the school and we encourage children to take a leading role. We have a very active Pupil Council in Chryston Primary. Each year they organise fundraising events for charities chosen by our pupils and work with the Headteacher to lead pupil based school improvement.

We are a Health Promoting School, having achieved our Gold Award in 2009. Health and Wellbeing continues to be important to our ethos and the opportunities for lifelong learning we offer children.

There is a wide range of out of hours learning opportunities available to the children. These change from year to year. This session activities have included chess, skipping, cycling proficiency, Cross country, dancing and art and crafts.

The local secondary school is Chryston High School. There is very close liaison with secondary school, which ensures a smooth and effective transition for our primary seven pupils.

We place great importance on close links with parents and the wider community, and feel that by working together, our aims will be successfully achieved.
