All places are allocated in accordance with North Lanarkshire Council's admissions policy; babies and under three children require to be supported by an agency or department working with the family.

Within our under three provision we offer an appropriate curriculum for age and stage of children's development supported by 'Effective Early Development and Learning - the critical period between birth to 3 years'.

Our accommodation is spacious and bright and has an extensive natural outdoor play area at the front of the building, as well as an all weather multi-surface area, with shelter, leading directly from one of our playrooms at the rear.  Our children are encouraged to be independent and active learners and participate in a wide range of learning opportunities both indoors and outdoors.

The children's skills are observed and assessed to support their learning through the experiences and outcomes within the four capacities of the 'Curriculum for Excellence 3-18years' - Responsible Citizens, Effective Contributors, Successful Learners and Confident Individuals.  This requires our staff to challenge and motivate the children in a broad and balanced curriculum to enable them all to reach their optimum potential.

The nursery works in partnership with parents/carers, various support agencies and local primary and secondary schools within the local community. The centre also offers a wide range of courses and groups from the community learning and development wing of the building. We have comprehensive liaison policy and procedures in place to ensure a seamless transition to our feeder primary schools.

We are a health promoting nursery and have gained the gold award in recognition of this. We also have achieved four green 'Eco Schools' flags for our ongoing work in eco projects and are only the second nursery in Scotland to have this permanent award to date.
