North Lanarkshire's flagship Anti-Bullying Policy 'Bullying: It's Never Acceptable' was published in 2012 and rolled out to all educational establishments.

A training programme, facilitated by Scotland's Anti-Bullying Service - Respectme, had 142 staff taking part.

At that time, a number of requirements had been identified and this updated policy for the council, was one of these.

These guidelines are a development of the 2012 Policy and should be read in conjunction with it.  They have been developed in partnership with Respetme.  The original support pack remains relevant.

The obligations contained in this new Policy should be adhered to by all establishments with regards to reporting and recording of incidents.

All educational establishments have a responsibility to review their own anti-bullying policy on an annual basis.

Parents/carers should discuss any issues or concerns they have with their child's head teacher.
