Palliative care services

How we can help

Palliative care is provided in a range of settings and from a range of staff and organisations: primary health care teams, general practitioners and community nursing staff.

  • Marie Curie cancer care provides nursing support at home for people with cancer
  • Community hospitals
  • Care homes
  • Home care services
  • Hospices

Social work services for palliative care are provided through:

  • Assessment and care management from social work locality team settings
  • Membership of specialist palliative care teams in St Andrew's Hospice, Airdrie and Strathcarron Hospice, Denny

A person's care needs are comprehensively assessed and resources to meet the needs provided accordingly. A person's needs are then subject to regular review. The support services provided may include home care services, welfare benefits advice and respite services for carers. At all times, our services aim to be flexible and responsive.
