CSV befriending project

This is a partnership between CSV and social work services

The CSV North Lanarkshire Befriending Project provides volunteer befriending support to 40 children and young people who are experiencing social isolation and who are experiencing difficult times in their lives. This includes a target of 10 young people with a disability.

Support is provided by locally recruited part-time volunteers along with two CSV full time volunteers.

The volunteers act as positive adult role models to the young people.  Through undertaking social, leisure and educational activities and outings with the young people, the volunteers encourage them to make positive changes in their lives which will benefit themselves and the local community.

Social workers contact the befriending service on 01698 574 575 to request this additional support where appropriate.
