Feedback welcomed on plans for next three years of Health and Social Care services

Future priorities

North Lanarkshire residents are being asked to share their views on future plans for the area's health and social care services.

The North Lanarkshire Integration Joint Board is asking local people to give feedback on how the partnership will deliver key health and social care services over the next three years

The draft Strategic Commissioning Plan has been shaped following engagement with local people at a number of events and an online questionnaire which saw almost 1,100 people giving their feedback on how resources should be targeted.

Feedback has shaped the four principles areas where Health & Social care North Lanarkshire (HSCNL) is focusing its attention and resources. These are:

  • A person centred approach - people are in control of the care they receive and it meets their needs
  • Prevention and early intervention - supporting people to manage their own health
  • Connecting communities - addressing the needs of each person as well as those around them
  • Managing expectations - people are supported to agree individual realistic plans when they need help

Ross McGuffie, chief officer, HSCNL, said: "I was really encouraged by the level of feedback we received from local people to help us draft the plan for the next three years.

"We're dedicated to ensuring we deliver services in Wishaw that make a positive impact on peoples' lives and the best way to do that is by learning from our peoples' experiences.

"We listened to people while drafting the plan and that has helped us fully understand how they want to use their health and social care services now and in the future.

"It's important that people tell us what they think of the draft Strategic Commissioning Plan and how it will play a key role in helping us deliver the results they, and we, want.

"Ultimately, this work is being carried out for the benefit of everyone in North Lanarkshire so we really want to hear as many views as possible."

The draft Strategic Commissioning Plan can be accessed on the Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire website with responses being taken until 5pm on Friday, 28 February. Responses are completely confidential and unidentifiable with the information being retained for six months only.
