A UK Parliamentary General Election will take place on Thursday 12 December.

The Notice for Election for pdf icon North Lanarkshire [127kb] and pdf icon East Dunbartonshire [110kb] are available to download.

If you want to have your say at the election, you must be registered to vote by midnight on Tuesday 26 November. You can do this online - you will need your National Insurance Number and date of birth.

If you are not sure if you are already registered to vote, the Electoral Registration Office (ERO) can tell you.

Voting by post or proxy

If you won't be able to go to a polling station on 12 December, you can apply for a postal or proxy vote at Your Vote Matters.

Applications for new postal votes, postal proxy votes and amendments to, or cancellation of, existing postal or existing proxy votes must be with the Electoral Registration Office by 5.00pm on Tuesday 26 November.

Applications for new proxy votes must be received by 5.00pm on Wednesday 4 December.
