"The Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards Gala Dinner is one of Lanarkshire's most prestigious events, which recognises and celebrates entrepreneurialism and the success of Lanarkshire's best businesses," said Liz McCutcheon, Operations Manager at Business Gateway.

"The Awards are an ideal opportunity for local companies to showcase their achievements. This year we are particularly keen to celebrate the achievements of local young people through the Apprentice of the Year Award, so I would encourage local businesses to share their success stories with us and submit an application."

The awards are organised by North and South Lanarkshire Councils. The deadline for applications is Friday 1 March.

Martin McCrum, Director of Made in Scotland, principal sponsor of the 2019 Awards, commented: "Made in Scotland is delighted to be the Principal Sponsor of this year's Lanarkshire Business Awards.

"Lanarkshire has shown amazing resilience and consistent growth in an ever changing economic environment. It stands alone in this unique business event, showcasing abundant success and I would encourage Lanarkshire businesses to apply for these prestigious awards to share in our success."

The awards are free to enter. The award ceremony will be held at Motherwell Concert Hall on Friday 31 May when the achievements of the finalists will be celebrated.
