Wishaw's Karen Casey will take part in this year's World Transplant Games.
The team is the largest ever with more than 350 transplant athletes who have either a heart, lung, kidney, pancreas, liver, small bowel or bone marrow transplant.
Karen, who received a kidney transplant five years ago, said: "I am very humbled, proud and honoured to be representing Great Britain and thankful to the family of my donor who gave consent for the kidney transplant. I would encourage everyone to join the NHS organ donor register to give others the chance I was given."
The World Transplant Games take place every two years and are supported by the International Olympic Committee.
Provost Jean Jones said: "In 2017 North Lanarkshire was proud to host the British Transplant Games, which were a huge success. Karen was one of hundreds of athletes who took part in this event and everyone is wishing her every success at the World Transplant Games in Newcastle/Gateshead this August."
