Northlanders offer a warm welcome

Volunteers will help visitors to Strathclyde Park events

Volunteers

Visitors to Strathclyde Country Park for Glasgow 2018 European Championships are assured of a very warm welcome thanks to our team of fabulous Northlanders.

More than 70 local people have volunteered to be friendly faces for North Lanarkshire, helping visitors with information about the sporting and family events taking place.

Easily recognisable in their bright orange t-shirts, the Northlanders will be on hand along the last mile from Motherwell Station and in the park during each of the days of competition - 2-5 and 9-12 August.

They have lots of information at their fingertips to signpost visitors to all the facilities within the park, to travel information and local amenities - as well as offering advice to local people in the community around the park.

But most importantly, our Northlanders are enthusiastic ambassadors for North Lanarkshire and everything we have to offer our visitors.

Strathclyde Country Park is a Proud Host Venue for the rowing and triathlon competitions, as part of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.

This is the third major sporting event that Northlanders have volunteered for - and their pride in the local area has made sure people have a first class experience of North Lanarkshire. We simply couldn't host these events without their help.

Thank you very much to the team at Teleperformance for their efforts in organising our Northlanders uniforms and bags.

So if you're coming to Strathclyde Park for Glasgow 2018 and our circus-themed family fun days Go Live in the Park! look out for all the orange-clad friendly faces and give them a wave!
