GO LIVE! in the Park

Eight days of family fun

Aerial Edge at fun day

Strathclyde Country Park is the place to be for families when the Glasgow 2018 European Championships takes place in August.

Alongside the world-class rowing and triathlon competitions, the park will host eight days of free, circus-themed cultural and sporting fun.

Go Live in the Park! will celebrate the 250th anniversary of circus in Scotland.

There's the opportunity to have a go on Scotland's largest flying trapeze, which stands at almost 10 metres high! (For anyone over 7 years of age)*

Clowns, jugglers, and roving performers will entertain the crowds as well as circus-based workshops, face painting, music, dance, visual art, drama and comedy performances from artists from North Lanarkshire and beyond, including OceanAllOver, Feis Phaslaig and Mischief la bas.

As well as circus skills, there will also be the chance to try out your sporting skills with a range of activity from tri golf to triathlon challenge, from Sumo Suits to soft play.

All the activities will be at Clyde Park, near the Airbles Road entrance to Strathclyde Country Park, in sight of the rowing and triathlon events.

Go Live in the Park! takes place on:

  • Thursday 9 August - 12.30pm - 4pm

  • Friday 10 August - 3pm - 7pm

  • Saturday 11 August - 10am - 5pm

  • Sunday 12 August - 10am- 3pm

There will be limited car parking at North Motherwell playing fields but the best way to get there is by bus or train. Trains run from Glasgow Central to Motherwell Station, from where it's a 25 minute walk to the park. The X11 bus service runs from Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow to Hamilton Road, just outside the park. Thanks to New College Lanarkshire, we are operating a Park and Ride from the Motherwell campus, with a pdf icon shuttle bus service [185kb] running every 15 minutes during the Go Live events.

Please see below map detailing Park and Ride, alternatively the address of New College Lanarkshire Motherwell campus is:  1 Enterprise Way, Wishaw, Motherwell ML1 2TX
