The Skills Academy seeks to ensure that all pupils fulfil their personal, social and academic feel safe and do their best.

We recognise that regular attendance, allied to positive behaviour helps to builds positive relationships, good learning and maximum attainment of young people. In that respect our Code of Conduct applies to everyone involved in the Skills Academy and is designed to uphold and acknowledge individual rights and responsibilities.

A secondary facility focused on developing employability skills, North Lanarkshire's first Skills Academy, opened in August 2017. This exciting and innovative project provides support for up to 48 pupils from secondary schools across North Lanarkshire.

The pupils, in S3 and S4, benefit from having their own mentor and a bespoke mixed curriculum including vocational courses such as Automotive, Construction, Early Years and Childcare, Hospitality, Hair and Beauty and Horticulture, as well as core subjects like English, Maths, Social Subjects and Personal Development including Dynamic Youth Award, The John Muir Award and Duke of Edinburgh.

The ultimate aim is that ever young person leaves the Skills Academy work-ready and enters a career suited to their interests, needs and aspirations.
