It was another successful annual tenants' conference, with 96% of participants rating it good or very good, with our workshops and having 'your say' segments proving most popular.

Tenants and residents came along to our recent conference to hear first-hand about key housing issues and visit our popular market place stalls.

The theme of this year's conference was  'Changing Places - Our Shared Ambition', and workshops included estate walkabouts, antisocial behaviour, new council housing supply, energy efficiency, fire safety and how changes to the Housing (Scotland) Act 2014 impact on our housing allocation policy.

Welcoming guests and attending her first conference was Councillor Olivia Carson, Vice Convener of Enterprise and Housing. She said: "It was a great experience and I really enjoyed my time at the event.

"It was good to hear about the exciting plans for housing services and from our tenants who shared their ideas and experiences. Our tenant conference is just one example of the opportunities tenants have available to them to play a key role in housing services.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made the event possible and to the tenants who came along to play their part."

Convener of Enterprise and Housing, Councillor Allan Graham presented the garden awards and hampers from Mears and Saltire.

Maureen Duggan, Chairperson of North Lanarkshire Federation of Tenants & Residents' Associations, closed the event and added: "I really enjoyed this year's tenants' conference. I was impressed by the standard and content of the workshops I attended. The organisation of the event was excellent. Once again, it was a very positive experience!"
