Tree management on council land

Tree management and maintenance works on council land are undertaken by the council's Arboriculture section. We are committed to maintaining and enhancing the trees and woodlands as a vital part of the natural and built environment.
The council receives frequent requests to prune or fell trees on land it owns. It is our policy to only undertake tree pruning or felling operations for health and safety reasons in accordance with appropriate Arboriculture management. We will not remove or prune trees because of issues such as leaf litter, satellite reception or shading issues. Further information is available by downloading Frequently Asked Questions [171kb]. If you want to report a dangerous tree then please contact Northline on 01698 403110.
If you are a council tenant and have any issues regarding trees please contact your local housing office.
If the tree is in a Conservation area or protected under a Tree Preservation Order then consent will be required by the Planning Authority.
Please use the 'contact us' box if you have any questions.
