Mutual exchange

We're helping tenants on our waiting list make the move by matching their homes with others suitable for mutual exchange thanks to a new online property program

By signing up to North Lanarkshire Council's new Mutual Exchange Scheme, over 3,300 tenants on our housing transfer list can find their perfect property match by viewing, online, suitable properties to exchange with.

Make a Mutual Exchange enquiry.

To get their property search started tenants are required to input their property details. Once they log on they can search for any suitable matches. Tenants of Registered Social Landlords can also access the system too and look for a property that will suit their housing needs and circumstances.

Our site is secure and all information is protected. Tenants have the option whether to allow their personal details to be displayed, or can opt to be contacted via their landlord.  Permission must always be granted by housing services before any exchange can take place. And, if a tenant isn't comfortable about approaching another to discuss mutual exchange our housing staff are happy to act as intermediaries.

To find out more information on how to register and access the scheme please contact your local housing office where our trained staff will be able to guide you through the simple process.

Don't worry if you can't access a computer to browse the new system. You can either visit your local library or contact your local first stop shop where staff will be happy to help.

We will continue to monitor the scheme, look at expanding its future development and talk to those using it to see what's working and what's not.

Staff have received training on the system to help match up tenants during the exchange process.
