Buildings at risk

Our important buildings which are at risk

These are usually listed buildings and we have produced pdf icon SPG 05 Rescuing your listed building [618kb]. Other buildings at risk can be located in a Conservation Area, or a building considered to have heritage value which is vacant and/or in poor condition.

The national Buildings at Risk Register for Scotland is maintained by the Historic Environment Scotland.

North Lanarkshire has some entries on the national Buildings at Risk Register at present, although this number is subject to change as buildings come off and new buildings go on the list.

We have a role to find out how many of our buildings are at risk and why. We engage with owners and third parties, to seek solutions and to guide our procedures in terms of taking action on this subject. If you think a property should be on the Buildings at Risk Register, or you have any other queries in relation to buildings at risk then please contact us.

You can find out if a building at risk is listed or located within a conservation area by accessing Pastmap.

You can also view Historic Environment Scotland guidance with regards to specific issues or problems by accessing inform guides.

For further advice and and guidance relating to conservation areas see the relevant supplementary planning guidance.

Please contact us if you have any questions. For more information, see 'related pages', 'downloads' or 'other useful websites'.
