How are the programmes delivered?

The capital programme is delivered by Housing Property and Projects along with our contractors

The capital programme is divided into individual projects, such as replacement heating, window/door replacements etc., which are all subject to competitive tendering. Companies are invited to submit a bid if they are interested in carrying out the works for us.

Companies are required to bid against each other in order to win the particular contract. Large projects must be advertised throughout the European Community. We will work together with the contractor to deliver each of the projects within the capital programme.

We are responsible for:

  • Specifying the content of each project

  • Processing tenders submitted

  • Appointing contractors to carry out the works

  • Providing architectural services

  • Liaising with tenants to inform them of the work and promote participation

  • Informing local area housing offices and elected members of all planned works

  • Ensuring that projects run smoothly

  • Surveying and inspection of the works being carried out

  • Supervising the work in progress and liaising with the contractor where required

The contractors are employed by us to carry out specific works, and they are responsible for:

  • Carrying out the works specified to a quality standard and within timescales set by us

  • Informing us if there are any issues

  • Regularly report on progress of work

All our contractors will:

  • Act, dress and behave appropriately

  • Always carry identification (you should ask to see this before allowing access to your home)

  • Give tenants/residents a name and contact for any enquiries

Please use the 'contact us' box if you have any further questions.
