Red weather warning for Storm Eowyn - Friday 24 January 2025 – Service Updates

A red weather warning has been issued for Friday 24 January 2025, between 10am and 5pm as Storm Éowyn is expected to bring very strong winds and widespread disruption.

All schools and education establishments will be closed on Friday 24 January and bin collections are suspended. Further service updates can be found here.

A new park at the centre of the former Ravenscraig steelworks site has opened.

The Craig is next to the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility and provides informal opportunities for fitness, encouraging and supporting active lifestyles, play and recreation, and spaces for the community to congregate and hold events.
