Burngreen Park
The Burngreen is split into two separate areas. Burngreen park situated between the Ebroch and Garrel burns covers an area of one hectare. It is a formal park with attractive floral displays and green spaces. Other features include the war memorial for the people of Kilsyth and the recently restored bandstand and drinking fountain.
Burngreen recreational ground covers an area of 3.5 hectares. This is where there are several attractions such as a children's play area, putting green, trampolines, tennis courts, bowling green, road traffic school and football pitch. There are also several picnic benches situated in the green space next to the Ebroch burn.
The road traffic school has been a top attraction in the park for over 50 years. It offers children between the ages of 1 and 8 the chance to use a mini road layout and develop their cycling ability and road safety skills. It includes a range of road features including traffic lights and signs, roundabouts, crossroads, pedestrian crossings and junctions. Children's bikes and safety helmets are available to hire or visitors can use their own provided the bike does not have gears.
