We can only issue certificates for marriages registered in Scotland.

The fee for a certificate is £15 plus postage. If you buy a certificate within one month of registration the fee is £10 plus postage. After one month of registration the fee will be reduced to £10 plus postage if you can produce a certificate at the time of applying.  Photocopies are acceptable. 

You do not need to come to the registration office in person to get the certificate. 

You can apply:

• by phone - you can pay by credit or debit card
• in writing - you can pay either by postal order or by cheque (if you apply by post please include details of the address where the certificate has to be posted)
• by email - we will contact you for payment

When you apply you must give the full names of all the people on the certificate along with the date and place of the marriage.
