Simplified bin collection

If a resident has a medical condition or disability that results in difficulties with recycling, we can remove all recycling bins and provide a larger general waste bin that is collected on a three-weekly basis.

How to apply

To apply for this service you must provide a copy of a letter from a medical health professional, for example, district nurse, practice nurse or doctor. Unfortunately, we cannot accept letters from carers or social workers.

If you would like to apply for this service on behalf of another person, you will still require a letter from a health professional. Please call us on 0345 143 0015.

The letter must be written on surgery headed paper and include the resident’s name and address. The health professional must give their opinion that the resident would benefit from the simplified bin collection service, but details of their medical condition are not necessary.

The simplified collection service is reviewed every two years. Please tell us if your circumstances change within that time and you no longer require the service.
