Introduction
Claiming and receiving housing benefit
Who can claim:
- you must usually be resident in the property
- you must occupy the property as your home
- you must be required to pay rent for the property
Single people aged 66 or over/couples if both aged 66 or over, then a claim can be made for Pension Age Housing Benefit.
People under the age of 66 or couples where one or both aged under 66 can only receive Housing Benefit where they live in supported/temporary accommodation.
